Writer / Director / Producer -studied Film and Creative Writing at Fordham University at Lincoln Center in New York City. While going to school there, he worked for acclaimed documentary filmmaker, Jennifer Fox, and at the indie rock label, Matador Records. McGarry then returned to Southern California and worked in scripted TV on the show, “New Girl,” while also dabbling in music production, producing and performing at venues all over the Los Angeles and Santa Barbara areas. Since his directorial debut in 2010 with his college thesis film, "Me & Paul," he realized his true passion lay in making documentary films. McGarry founded the production company THE ARCHIVE ROOM in 2010 and has had his work shown at film festivals and colleges around the country.
